The most important thing to understand is that, by representing yourself, you’ll be able to articulate your reasons for needing a driver’s licence. It won’t take long, and the judge is likely to appreciate hearing directly from you as well as the effort you’re making by being there. You’re a real person with real commitments to your job and supporting your dependents, not just a name on a piece of paper.
If you really don’t want to speak to the judge in court, however, let us know and we’ll arrange an alternative.
Hearings are usually only 10 minutes.
If you are called to appear in the daily list for 10am, you can expect to not get heard for an hour or two as there will be important matters that the court needs to get out of the way. Assaults, DIC convictions, and other matters that are outstanding have to be done first. Your matter is tiny!
So, for a 10am start time, it might take until 11:30am to get heard, and then 10 minutes for the hearing. Then you are done. Once your case is excused by the judge, the registrar will take an additional 30 minutes to seal your court order.
There are FIVE primary documents required to complete and bring to court, which we provide for you, and you will need FIVE copies of each.
Please note: As part of our document bundle, you’ll receive our court process guide. This is a comprehensive guide that walks you through every single step in detail.
