Jilly's

Jilly has a unique job as afuel tanker driver, she is also an artist and needed to be able to travel to work on her art on location. As a fuel tanker driver her safety requirements were paramount in the eyes of the Police. The Judge also identified that issue as the key.

Police opposed her application on the grounds of Public Safety and we immediately spoke to Jilly about how we viewed the situation and how we suggested would be a smart way to work through it. She agreed and we amended her affidavit to highlight the safety of the public and to show both Police and the Court that Jilly was a safe driver that had made mistakes and those had cost her Demerit Points as well as money and she knew what she needed to do and how she needed to drive her employer's Class 4 Fuel Tanker. To make matters worse her employer had decided in the middle of the process that they could choose to pressure her by removing their support for her Limited Licence application by not signing her emaployer's affidavit. We supported her by using her employment contract instead and suggested she tell her employer nothing as they were not helping in any way.

Roll forward to court :- We still had Police opposing the morning on the hearing and Guy got up bright and early as always and jumped on a call to Jilly. We often do this with difficult hearings or driver situations and we use a unique set of skills to bring the driver through the court process just before they are going to court. This does a few things that are crucial and we were able to show Jilly a few techniques that would hopefully help her in court. Sure enough the Judge was on her side and asked Jilly exactly the type of questions we had suggested to her that they might ask her. The Judge granted her Licence, and she called us to let us know.

Jilly was in a word - ecstatic. We warned her it was very very close to call and it could flip either way. It would all depend on her reassurance to the Court that she was a safe driver and that she was in control.
